I recently was contacted by Matt Coldwell, the City of Austin, Aviation, Exhibit Coordinator, to be a part of the group show 32C (Three to See) at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. I am showing with two other artists, Dwain Kelly & Jerry Defrese. Our work will be up from Nov. 19th, 2014 to Februrary 24th, 2015. We are near gates 9& 10, along side the magazine and souvenir shop, heading toward the exit to baggage cliam, and the music stage to the left.
If you’ll be flying or coming in, definitely check it out!
Here is the write up that ABIA did for the art: http://www.austintexas.gov/department/current-art-exhibits

“Three Austin artists, Hallie Rae Ward, Jerry DeFrese and Dwain Kelley produce art that is charged with excitement, jubilation and creativity. Hallie Ward manipulates an intertwined maze of colorful pipe cleaners in her piece Neon Grasses. It is surprisingly joyful and glow with radiant color and energy. Jerry DeFrese’s pieces are made from discarded cardboard, recycled wood and paint. They are signs that resemble words but communicate an abstract level of primal recognition. Dwain Kelley uses a palette of found wood, metals, gold leaf, cloth, glass, and rocks to create assemblages that emulate the look of buried treasure to be discovered.”
